Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess, with hair as black as ebony, skin as white as snow and lips as red as blood...
But while blood may have been a mere description of this gorgeous lady from lands far, far away, some blood had to stain virginal hands to survive the bite of teeth, long and white, set into a visage of utterly horrific malice and fur.
And having battled to her very last breath, she laid down her head and dreamed of roses red and thorns sharp - oblivious until one hundred years had passed.
Times went by. Blood dried into brown-crusted stains that only salted water could wash away: water tinged by love and longing and finally, dreams desired yet unfulfilled.
Yet when waves dragged white foam away from the coast, land began to appear again. Lush, wild meadows; deep ponds filled with colourful fish, and lights that painted the night-sky red and orange, as true love found a grasp over two innocent souls: one locked inside a tower, the other mesmerised by long tresses of golden hair.
Lights burned. Love flowered. Towers crumbled. And in the end it was as simple as to utter the words 'I do believe in fairies' to lead the lovers to lands far away and over the rainbow; to a single star shining brightly over London's fog-darkened sky and onto Never-Never Land. And there, true love would grow and blossom; free and final, until the end of times.
I had "fairy" much fun making this Journal.
Many thanks to my daughter for the story.
